Q: Why are they called Electronic Learning Credits?

A: Because the money has been set aside for schools to spend on eligible multi-media teaching and learning materials of many kinds: software, CD-ROMS, web services and more.

Q: How do we know if it's approved?

A: If it's on Curriculum Online, it's approved. The website presents the definitive range of eLC eligible materials, containing over 20,000 resources.

Q: How much money do we get?

A: For the 03/05 year, each eligible school is entitled to £1000 as a starting point plus £9.85 for each pupil.

Q: Who is eligible for this eLC money?

A: All maintained schools, non-maintained special schools and pupil referral units in England, up to and including Key Stage 4. Funding has now been extended to include all maintained nursery schools and maintained nursery places.

Q: Has my school got eLC money?

A: It should have. Check with your budget holder or LEA.

Q: Are there any time limits on this eLC money?

A: The Curriculum Online programme is ongoing, but the 03/04 eLC money will expire on 31st August 2004.

Q: So is there more money to come?

A: There is a three-year programme and the eLC money for 03/04 has now been issued. A further round of eLC money will be released during September 2004.

Q: So how do I spend this eLC money?

A:

1. Register at SimplyPsych.com

2. Contact your budget holder or LEA so make sure that your school has eLC money.

3. Drop us a line via the support system saying what you want to do (site license, student licenses, teacher licenses, whatever) giving the address of your school and we will send out an invoice.

4. Your school eLC money will then be used as payment.

That's it!
